![]() ![]() ![]() The unyielding and rich flavor of the vanilla complemented the tea without being too overpowering from a personal view, but may for anyone who does not really like vanilla. Sleepytime® Vanilla was rich and heavy in flavor with a strong followup of minty freshness immediately after swallowing. The taste of the Sleepytime® Vanilla blend is absolutely superb. After adding a teaspoon of clover honey and a teaspoon of Perfectea Rock Sugar to the cup, I took a sip and let the liquid rest and absorb in my mouth to experience the full flavor of the blend before swallowing the sweet mixture. The steaming, freshly brewed tea was a light yellow-brown color and left a minty vanilla aroma floating around in the kitchen. During and after the brewing, the aroma changed and the scent of vanilla became much more pronounced and the robust smell of the spearmint subsided and blended more thoroughly with the chamomile and lemongrass. The scent of chamomile was present, but weak and the west Indian lemongrass gave the blend a citrus undertone. The entirety of the blend was upstaged by the deep aroma of spearmint and the subtlety of the vanilla. My first whiff of this tea gave me the impression that the spearmint would overpower the taste. The taste of their teas, however, repetitively compels me to keep purchasing their products. Celestial Seasonings' bags have no string and are very easily torn. ![]() One thing that I was immediately put off by was the quality of the tea bags. I have had this tea for quite some time now, but only recently got around to opening the package. Vanilla is one of my favorite flavors and I liked the original so I decided to try the Vanilla variation of Sleepytime®. I was first exposed to Celestial Seasonings' original Sleepytime® blend in the Herbal Tea Sampler Pack. Link to This Review 87 Aroma: 9/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 5/5 ![]()
